Designed apparel & accesories:

Since 1996. I was 18 then and it was my dream job.

What have you designed?

Like a lot of folks I started with softgoods doing t-shirts and hoodies. I've forecasted, designed, teched, produced and managed all categories of men's from skate & surf, hip hop, streetwear, high end to budget label. I've done light jackets, outerwear, fleece, headwear, bags, wallets, belts, non-denim bottoms, twils, woven shirts, knits and of course denim.

Besides clothing design:

I do a lot of styling for photo shoots. That brought me to working film sets doing prodction design which is creating the enviroments and set dressing for productions. Now with Hay Fam it has become my vehicle for storytelling as a producer and host.

Designed for the following awesome companies:

Osiris, Syndrum, Drunknmunky, Ezekiel, Suspect Inc., Sound In Color, G-Seven Premium, Stranded, the Nesi Apparel Group, the Tarrant Apparel, Brand House 7, Fortune Fashion, Matix White Label.

Beginning:

I met this dude Alyasha Owerka Moore. He had done Phat Farm with Russel Simmons, Mecca, Dub & Droors and went on to create Alphanumerics. I remenber thinking it was the dopest job in the world because it involved art, culture, music and lifestyle. I would attend ASR and the MAGIC show in Las Vegas to network with people. I wanted to understand how the brands work. Eventually Brian Reid at Osiris Skate Shoe picked me up to start their clothing program. I think I was 20.

Jon Phenom Exclusives jump off:

One day I just grabbed my mothers old sewing machine and made a courier bag. From there I made pillows, bags & purses. What was the first pair of jeans like? Hilarious. I never went to fashion school so when I was making my own patterns I just kinda eye balled it. I would tape together paper bags for pattern paper. The first pair took me a week and a half. People would constantly ask where I got my jeans. About a month later I made my first serious order for $200. I did that one in 3 days. I made a custom Cleaner Corp pair for Alyasha and he gave me $300 and told me to go buy a proper sewing machine. I found an old industrial one. The kind moms use to make curtains with. It was basically a tank. The custom jeans now start at $450 and I can do a basic 5 pocket from scratch in about 6 hours or less.
